In reality this is a real bone shaker of a ride with riders fasten into small ‘egg; shaped cages that can rotate fully on their axis plus the whole ride turns as well. Not for the faint hearted!
Our version, which replicates this motion well is sure to leave those minifigs a bit dizzy!
Originally the ride only took around a month to build and uses a mixture of LEGO System and Technic parts. Since then it’s been retro fitted with lights to the main arms. This mean inserting a electrical slip ring into the drive hub at the top of the tower. This wasn’t as easy as it sounds, as the ring hs to be the last thing before the main arms attach which means there’s quite a bit of weight on the axle. This has been changed to a metal one to prevent the wheel sagging.
